CONCUSSION SUBSPECIALIST
Dr. Anssari completed her MD training at The Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 2008 and her neurology residency at the University of Manitoba in 2016. Dr. Anssari completed fellowship in concussion, post-concussion syndrome, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy at University of Toronto in 2019.
She joined the University of Manitoba as an Assistant Professor in 2016 and continued her collaboration with the university until 2020. She began her private practice and research in August of 2020.
Her practice is focused on, but not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of concussions, traumatic brain injuries, and various types of headaches.
What it means to be a concussion subspecialist
Concussion fellowship is a subspecialty of neurology or sports medicine. The subspecialist receives 1-2 years of extra training after residency. A concussion subspecialist diagnoses and treats the symptoms of concussion and helps patients through their recovery period.
